When Sawyer Shindler turns one, you bet a #caramelizedpup birthday party is in store!
My friends at Hollywood Feed prepared me and Alex for puppy parenthood with patience and enthusiasm last summer when Sawyer arrived, and we have since enjoyed a relationship full of treats and toys and training together. As Sawyer's first birthday approached, the Hollywood Feed team offered to provide party-perfect goods for the crowd!
I staged Sawyer's birthday brunch on the beautiful garden grounds of our family friends, the Bessers. Their covered patio was a sweet retreat for dog-friendly birthday treats baked by Hollywood Feed Fresh Bakery, beverages, party toys and comfy seating for our family.
Bunches of white tulips were gathered in galvanized tin garden vases and spaced throughout the patio, and I found these darling concrete letters spelling Sawyer's name to serve as a centerpiece. We brought our cornhole set, which we received as a wedding gift, for a laid back backyard game—little did I realize that the corn-filled bags would be perceived as fetch toys for the dogs!
Hollywood Feed's custom bakery, located in Midtown Memphis, created Sawyer a custom all-natural cake, with an adorned Carob bone, peanut butter icing, and a cream cheese trim. Though the other pups joined in on the cake (scroll for photos!), the bakery also provided a dozen adorable mini carrot cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, which were especially timely for Easter weekend.
Thanks to Mary Kate Steele, you can see all the fun through her stunning photography. Keep scrolling for the ultimate pup party experience.
