One of the silver linings of 2020 has been the ingenuity to rethink how we elevate our homes and reimagine what’s possible within the parameters of safe gatherings. As an entertainer and full-fledged extrovert, the past seven months have been quite a challenge — but discovering new outlets and ideas has been such a gift!
Backyard glamping is the greatest example I’ve experienced during this time. If you aren’t traveling, no need to fret — the transformation of your outdoor space into a cozy getaway is quite possibly the solution for this season. In Memphis, Glamp901 has been established to do it all for you — a king bed for two or a girls night for six, just share your vision, and Brad and Liz will bring it to life!
Our opportunity to get together this past weekend felt like the belated birthday or bachelorette party of my dreams. Scroll through the details that decidedly made this the best fall fête yet.
GLAMPING IN STYLE
Though we’re clearly not in camping gear, we took the term “glamping” to heart with elevated outfits styled by Oak Hall. Who says you can’t wear a dress and kick your shoes off after the first glass of rosé or old fashioned? Aztec prints, sweaters and adorable accessories (hello hats and blankets!) from the store were comfortable yet cute as can be.
Glamp901 took my autumn vision and brought the cutest fall-hued pillows to style each twin bed. Crates alternated as nightstands as well as benches for outdoor shmoozing. Little pumpkins and plants from Trader Joe’s and Target brought the theme to life, too! The bench, dining table, and floor pillows were brought over by Glamp901, too — they truly thought of every scenario.
SNACKS + SIPS
We stuck to snacks for this girls’ gathering, but don’t hesitate by pulling out all the stops for a cozy cast iron outdoor supper. I individually portioned charcuterie boards on bamboo plates to keep us COVID-safe, and the method turned out to be such an easy canvas for my guests to add dark chocolate toffee bites and apple puff pastry tarts. Caramel popcorn in mini bags is an easy, minimal-mess snack for all ages.
Beverage-wise, we stuck to classic red and rosé wine and Old Dominick old fashioneds. I loved serving them in copper mugs for this time of year! Hot toddys would be delightful as temperatures continue to cool.
For florals, I grabbed old bottles from our wedding reception’s bourbon bar to hold eucalyptus, hay, and other greenery stems. The rustic arrangement takes just seconds to put together.
GAME NIGHT
Before long, we got lost in conversation for hours on the comfy mattresses. Just in case, though, I recommend setting up some games and activities for your guests! Jenga is one of my favorites, so I brought over the blocks in an extra-large mason jar and set it up in this tee-pee area styled by Glamp901. These little teepees can be rented for indoor kids’ sleepovers — absolutely precious!
GUEST GIFT BOXES
I love preparing welcome trays or packages for guests when they stay at our home; and since it’s been a while since we’ve had virtually anyone in our townhome, I took full advantage for this opportunity! Gift boxes at the foot of each bed are such a sweet surprise when your friends arrive and claim their spots. I filled each with a pumpkin-spiced candle and trail mix blend, and you can also add toiletries or airplane-sized alcohol bottles for their enjoyment over the course of the evening!
Thank you to Glamp901 for making this possible! Happy glamping!
