For weeks now, I've been itching for the seasons to change. And alas, today I can confidently declare my cozy cup of morning coffee no longer feels "forced." The crisp air refreshes my routine on my upstairs balcony, which I use to test the temps each workday.
Yes--It's fall, y'all.
With a new season comes a new frame of mind; and in my case, it's in form of new optical frames.
For months now, I've been eager to find a pair of eyeglasses that feels more like an accessory than a necessity. We change out statement pieces of jewelry, apparel and purses; so why we can't we treat frames similarly? I had not yet embraced the notion.
Eclectic Eye quickly changed my perspective.
A few weekends ago after grabbing an Acai bowl from Cooper Young's Juice Bar, I hopped across the street to Eclectic Eye's MOSCOT trunk show. The eyewear boutique regularly invites designers, brands and artists to display their latest creative pieces on the showroom floor; and needless to say, I was overly impressed with the selection.
After playing with dozens of glasses, ranging from MOSCOT and New Orleans-based Krewe du Optic to Chanel and Salt, I landed on a perfect pair.
The MOSCOT frame in "sage" matched my blue-green eyes well (as well as the darling in-store succulent arrangement). Similar to an autumn recipe dusted with fresh sage -- like the fig and sage cauliflower flatbread I plan to prepare this week -- I found the sage hue to organically and effortlessly complement my face shape and fashion style. Plus, the pair worked well with my neutral attire, whether in the office or on the couch.
I look forward to toting these around town while in my cable-knit sweaters and boots...well, eventually. Let's wait until the high temperatures are no higher than 70 degrees!
