Entertaining in Pearl by Lela Rose

I am all about a day-to-night spring look that invites flirty femininity with professional sophistication. As a 20-something who balances a full-time career with a food and lifestyle blog, I rely on those investment pieces that carry me from meetings to dinner parties and conference tables to cocktails.

As if timing couldn’t be more perfect, I was just introduced to Pearl by Lela Rose, an affordable luxury collection and designer brand offering by Dallas-raised, New York Tribeca-based designer and entertaining expert Lela Rose. I have a complete girl crush on both her and her New York Times-published headline, which reads, “Nothing says chic like matching your drink to your dress.” As I aspire to create through Caramelized, Lela preaches that a hostess must embody and consider every element of the complete experience, from tablescape and martini garnish to the material of one’s blouse. Lela and I totally speak the same language, y’all.

After playing dress up in the spring collection (see the lookbook here), I read Lela Rose’s entertaining book Prêt a Party literally cover-to-cover, melting over the memorable details of her dinner parties, picnics and rooftop gatherings.

Just like her Pearl pieces, each of which includes a hand-sewn mini pearl embellishment, Lela treats the details of her dinners with the utmost of creativity. Place cards, menus, recipe garnishes are absolutely aspirational and inspire me to get out my planner and find a Sunday night to stuff a dozen friends in my home for a “couples’ pot pie cook-off” affair (Lela cites and maps out the occasion in her book with such charm).

As Lela says to the New York Times, “I love the graciousness of creating a kind of salon. I want people in each of those cities to feel a sense of connection and community.”

Pearl will not be sold in stores or, at the moment, online. Instead, stylist/hostesses bring the collection to their hometowns, bringing networks together to shop and celebrate. And get this: the line offers sizes Double Zero to Eighteen, and every piece is cut to order.

My Memphis friend Amy Golden works with this home trunk show-exclusive brand and is bringing the 125-piece spring collection to our hometown this week! I’ll be joining the kickoff this Friday, January 25 at Stovall Collection, where Pearl by Lela Rose will take over the shop with plenty of adorable party additions in typical Lela Rose fashion, including a custom beverage by Old Dominick, rosé, and Navy Hill mocktails.

Amy will then hold by-appointment Pearl by Lela Rose shopping sessions in her Midtown home from January 26-February 3 after our Stovall Collection kick-off this Friday. After you make your decisions (all orders must be in by February 3), fabrics will begin to cut and work on your wardrobes, estimated to ship by end of March. You’ll pay half up-front and the remaining balance once your dresses, blouses and bottoms ship! The collection runs from $165-$550 per piece, with most in the $300s.

To make your appointment to try on this exceptional line, reach out to Amy at amy@pearl.nyc!
