I’ve been enthralled with the architecture and sheer size of Crosstown Concourse since first walking into floors while under construction. The final product is a work of art in itself, but the energy circulating its halls and atriums is what keeps pulling me back. Restaurants, coffee and gelato and cocktails, studios, work spaces, art and theatre — the multi-sensory experience of Crosstown is unlike any other.
While this year has welcomed a different start than others prior, the theme of “wellness” is a consistent one in my annual calendar of intentions. And during a time when it’s difficult to get “out and about” safely with all-encompassing, weatherproof activities, Crosstown Concourse has become a destination to feel and practice wellness with plenty of room to breathe.
WALK
Too cold outside but still need to get your 10,000 steps in? Or are you simply needing a change of scenery? There are one million indoor square feet to walk, climb, and even meditate. If you walk the ground floor and then the central atrium portion of all seven public floors, that's 2 miles! And with an incline of architecturally-magnificent staircases?
It’s enough space to spread out and feel totally safe while masked. Staircases are uniquely designed for us to use and explore, and I took full advantage. Listen to a podcast, take in the public art at every turn, and wave hello as you go.

DINE
Crosstown is home to close to a dozen dining concepts, and the versatility and variety of offerings can be both wholesome and healthy. I especially love that, as an outdoor patio eater at this point, I can pick a dish and drink from two different spots and enjoy them at once on the plazas or along the outdoor covered tables. It’s the best opportunity for a family potluck — especially on a night when I am in the mood for tacos and Alex prefers pizza!
Here are my suggested restaurant orders, which pack in flavor while keeping your wellness goals on track!
Pizzeria Trasimeno: Insalata di Rucola, Wood Oven Roasted Olives, Baked Meatballs
Farm Burger: Super Food Salad with Butternut Squash + Vegan Quinoa Patty (Side note: You can order their burgers with a lettuce wrap instead of a bun!)
Global Cafe: Juan’s Asada Bowl, Tabbouleh, Hibiscus Tea
UNWIND
Working at home can be confining, so I’ve found relief once in a while in an outdoor writing session at Crosstown’s meditation fountain or shared workspaces. Everyone adheres to mask policies and respects privacy and space. With a French Truck iced coffee in hand and pop-up music or WYQR Crosstown radio sound track, the vibe is fantastic and truly restorative.
Meet your wellness goals with me at Crosstown — I highly recommend the adventure.
