Nothing like ringing in the Jewish New Year with a new HOUSE!
After six years of adventuring in Downtown Memphis, we finally decided to listen to Sawyer and Finn and give them a backyard (and me a dedicated kitchen!). Our townhome lifestyle has been an absolute joy, but our one-room downstairs decidedly felt like more of a tight squeeze during the pandemic — and I know we aren’t the only ones who felt that way while quarantining and confining to our home this past year.
While we had been passively eyeing the market (the very hot market, might I add), this new house belonged to family friends who took such great care of the space over the years! The opportunity to buy off-market was a huge blessing, as this betting war game with zero contingencies was both intimidating and impossible to win.
Ann Parker of Parker Design Studio has been guiding our game plan since we learned it’d be ours back in April — I could not imagine this process without her, and we’re only into day one of demo! We’ll be expanding and fully renovating the kitchen, replacing floors and fixtures, and furnishing a home almost entirely from scratch. Bear with us as we navigate all the new with a fast-as-possible timeline…
