I now understand. Our dog rules our household, and there’s no turning back!
It began about eight months after raising our pup Sawyer, who slept in a kennel in our guest room, when Sawyer suddenly began to whimper in the middle of the night. Whimpers during into howls, and we couldn’t ignore it. We let him into our bed and, oops, the one-time invite turned into a nightly ritual. Our 70-pound dog now enjoys the king-size bed with us!
Further, we first experienced the Bella Notte bedding process at Bella Vita for our guest bedroom. The timing couldn’t have been better, as we were preparing for an influx of out-of-town visitors throughout the holidays. Each time we’d show family and friends up to their space, the “oohs” and “ahs” would ensue. And, frankly? I longed for that sentiment myself in our master!
Though an all-white and/or natural palette is expected and appreciated in my home, closet, and kitchen, you name it — we were ready to switch things up. My ivory duvet and shams became a bit worn and discolored over time due to Sawyer’s daily hangouts on our bed, and previous bedding didn’t accommodate for easy washing or drying. A dry cleaning visit every few months was not only a burden to my time but also to our wallet.
This fall, it simply felt right to make a change.
Bella Vita’s team is expertly equipped to guide your bedding selection process. The terms and textures and colors are expansive, but don’t feel you have to do the homework yourself. With Bella Vita’s in-store display, featuring a wall of 3-foot samples and a sample bed to plan our your vision, the work is done for you.
Exercise your patience though, as every Bella Notte bed is made to order! You’ll receive your elements at Bella Vita (including inserts, if you need them) six weeks or so after placing the order.
Here’s what we selected for our master bedroom:
Luna King Coverlet with Charmeuse Edge in Midnight
Delphine King Coverlet with Satin Raw Edge Flange in Winter White
Valentina Deluxe Sham with Silk Gauze Ruffle in Midnight
Paloma Euro Sham with Silk Velvet Petite Flange in Pearl
Loulah Bolster with Raw Edged Self Ruffle in White White
I’m in love with the midnight (navy) hue to contrast the rest of our home. It’s moody, bold yet soothing, and perfectly Sawyer-proof. The coverlet even carries a worn denim nod, which I especially love. A pearl-colored sham (which almost reminds me of a super pale blush) offers femininity and elegance, as well as the winter white velvet bolster across the front. White additionally jumps to the edge of the bed through a linen coverlet for extra warmth and layering.
And back to the pup? Bella Notte linens can be washed at home — Bella Vita owner Stephanie argues that washing your bedding makes your sheets and coverlets even softer and cozier!
I now almost look forward to making the bed in the morning more than cozying up to fall asleep!
